The image displays a 1976 Canadian $100 gold coin, minted to commemorate the XXI Summer Olympic Games held in Montreal that year. 

Key features and information about the coin:

Design:
The reverse side, shown in the image, features an ancient Grecian athlete being crowned with a laurel by the goddess Pallas Athena. It also includes the inscription "776 B.C. - 1976 A.D." and "ΟΛΥΜΠΙΑΔΕΣ 21" (Olympiades 21). 

Composition:
These coins were produced in both 14kt (58.3% pure gold) and 22kt (91.67% pure gold) versions. 

Purpose:
The Royal Canadian Mint issued these commemorative coins, along with 28 silver coins, starting in 1973 to honor and help finance the Montreal Olympics.
