The person featured on the medal is Martin Luther King Jr., who was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize on December 10, 1964, for his nonviolent struggle for civil rights in the United States.

The text on the image indicates he received the Nobel Peace Prize on December 10, 1964.

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr was awarded the Nobel peace prize in December 1964 for his courageous leadership in civil rights and his efforts to bring peaceful change to America. Born in 1929 in Atlanta, Georgia, King graduated from Morehouse College in 1948 and received advanced degrees from Crozer Theological Seminary and Bos-ton University. He was ordained a minister in 1947 and became pastor of the Dexter Avenue Baptist Church in Montgomery in 1954. The following year he began his crusade against racial discrimination by organizing a 381-day boycott of Montgomery's transit system. During this protest King began preaching his doctrine of nonviolent resistance. The ultimate success of the boycott convinced many blacks of the effective power of organization and nonviolence. During the next several years he led mass demonstrations in many parts of the country. In August 1963, 250,000 Americans-both black and white-joined King for a massive civil rights demonstration in Washington where he delivered his eloquent oration which rang with the words, "I have a dream...." On April 4, 1968 King was assassinated in Memphis. A shocked nation mourned the death of the man who had dedicated his life to achieving civil rights for all.

The round is titled "FREEDOMS FOUNDATION AT VALLEY FORGE".

It features an image of George Washington kneeling in prayer.
