Subject: The coin commemorates the Curtiss HS-2L, a seaplane used during World War I by the military and later as an important bush aircraft in Canada. 

Design Elements: It features a detailed depiction of the Curtiss HS-2L seaplane on the reverse, with a 24-karat gold-plated cameo portrait of Stuart Graham, considered the world's first bush pilot, above the plane.

This coin features the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, designed by Susanna Blunt. The inscription "ELIZABETH II D G REGINA" encircles the portrait, which translates to "Elizabeth II, by the Grace of God, Queen".
