It marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of British Prime Minister Sir Winston Churchill (1874–1974).
The obverse shows a highly detailed forward-facing portrait of Churchill wearing his signature bow tie and suit. The outer edge reads "WINSTON SPENCER CHURCHILL" with "CENTENARY 1874-1974" inscribed across the bottom.
