This is an 1886 Morgan Silver Dollar. The coin was minted in Philadelphia as indicated by the absence of a mint mark below the eagle on the reverse side of the coin. This popular U.S. coin is composed of 90% silver and 10% copper, and its value depends heavily on its condition and any specific varieties.
Depicts a bald eagle with outstretched wings clasping an olive branch and arrows, within a wreath. Early 1878 issues had eight tail feathers, but this was quickly changed to seven to conform to the standard for U.S. coinage.
Created after the Bland–Allison Act of 1878 to help the Western silver mining industry. These coins primarily circulated in the West and were often called "cartwheels" due to their size.
The inscription "In God We Trust" is above the eagle.
The coin's weight is 26.73 grams, and it is composed of 90% silver and 10% copper.
It was minted from 1878 to 1904, and again in 1921.
