This is a 2017 $10 fine silver coin featuring the Common Loon, part of the "Celebrating Canada's 150th" series by the Royal Canadian Mint. 

The coin commemorates Canada's 150th anniversary, with the dates "1867-2017" engraved on the reverse. 

It is crafted from 0.9999 pure silver and weighs just over a half-ounce. 

The design, based on a photograph by Jim Cumming, depicts a common loon stretching its wings on a lake, with vibrant color application. 

This specific coin is the first in a 13-coin series, each representing a Canadian province or territory. 

This coin features the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, designed by Susanna Blunt. The inscription "ELIZABETH II D G REGINA" encircles the portrait, which translates to "Elizabeth II, by the Grace of God, Queen".
