The medallion is a replica of a Canadian semi-postal stamp that was issued to help fund the Olympic Games.
The original stamps were issued in different denominations, including 8¢, 10¢, and 15¢, and included a surcharge to support the games.
It features a design of three athletes at the podium; and the text "XXI Olympiad Olympiade XXI Montreal 1976" and "Canada 25".
