This is a 1978 Canadian Silver Dollar, a commemorative coin issued to mark the XI Commonwealth Games held in Edmonton, Alberta, that year.

One side features a stylized Commonwealth Games emblem—a modern take on the maple leaf—at its center. This is surrounded by ten pictograms representing the official sports of the 1978 Games: athletics, badminton, boxing, cycling, gymnastics, lawn bowls, shooting, swimming, weightlifting, and wrestling.

The other side features a right-facing bust of a 37-year-old Queen Elizabeth II.
