This is a Panama 20 Balboas silver coin; a large commemorative piece first issued in 1971. At the time of its release, it held the distinction of being the largest legal tender silver coin globally.
Features the National Coat of Arms of Panama. Above the shield is a harpy eagle with a banner reading "Pro Mundi Beneficio" (For the Benefit of the World), and nine stars representing the Panamanian provinces.
The opposite side typically features a portrait of Simón Bolívar, the South American military and political leader who was instrumental in the region's independence from Spanish rule.
