This is a 2002 Great Britain Gold Sovereign, minted specifically to celebrate Queen Elizabeth II's Golden Jubilee.
Features a stylized Crowned Shield of the Royal Arms nestled inside an open laurel wreath, with the date 2002 located at the bottom. This unique one-year design was created by herald painter Timothy Noad to temporarily replace the traditional St. George and the Dragon motif.
The opposite side bears the fourth definitive coinage portrait of Queen Elizabeth II designed by Ian Rank-Broadley.
The coin is struck in 22-carat gold and was produced by The Royal Mint in both proof and bullion finishes.
