Design:
The reverse side of the coin features a detailed depiction of the Fijian crested iguana, an endangered species endemic to Fiji, along with the weight and purity below. The obverse features the Fiji crest and the denomination of 1 Dollar.

The design features the Coat of Arms of Fiji, which includes a shield supported by two Fijian warriors.

Below the shield is the Fijian national motto: "Rerevaka na Kalou ka doka na Tui," which translates to "Fear God and honor the King".

In Fuji, coins are not actually minted in Fuji itself. The Reserve Bank of Fiji outsources the minting of its coins.
