These are metal replicas of the 1976 Montreal Summer Olympics semi-postal stamps, originally issued by Canada Post in 1974 to help fund the Games. While the original stamps were printed in colorful ink, these precious metal versions were minted as limited-edition collectibles in 24k gold, .999 fine silver, and bronze.
The set typically includes three denominations, each featuring the official logo of the Montreal Games—the five Olympic rings crowned by an "m" for Montreal:
Canada 8+2: Originally a light blue/rainbow stamp.
Canada 10+5: Originally a white/rainbow stamp.
Canada 15+5: Originally a gold/rainbow stamp.
The silver versions are typically minted from 16 grams (roughly 0.51 troy oz) of .999 fine silver.
